"Saying I Love You" Just in time for Valentines Day

                                                  "Saying I Love You" 18 x 14 o/b  CtCummins

I have not posted in a while.  Working at making a few bigger flower pieces.  I am still  working out the direction I want to take.  I miss landscapes when I am doing flowers and miss flowers when I'm doing landscapes.  Can I just say artists are all just one of a kinds.  I do think that I'm continually working towards post impressionism.  Van Gogh still remains my main man.   The other artist that inspires me is John Ottis Adams and  JEH MacDonald.  I am enthralled by the Seven and that group out of Canada with the well known artist Tom Thomson.  Some where in all this brush work and exciting color I will break new ground.
Enjoy!

Fresh Today

Fresh Today 14 x 11 o/b  Ct Cummins

This is probably my own personal fight to stray into realism and all the basic tones and colors.  I can't help myself.  I really am in the struggle to paint more freely, more abstractly and with tons of color.  Only to find that I turn out a painting that is so opposite.  I know that when I find myself here as I have before in the past I am on a turning point in my work.  I have been pretty settled in and knew just where to go.  I also subtracted some colors on the palette and added others.

Pair of Pears 6 x 8 o/c CtCummins

I seem to be going back to more and more colorful palette.  Influenced by Henry Hensche I feel I am back
on a path I once visited and why I left I have no idea.  After all color is the most emotional device that an artist
uses to entice his or her audience to say" Look at ME"

Budding Dual 9 x 6 o/c  CtCummins

Here is one of my newest pieces.  Always I seem to be  driven by the use of color and texture.
